Namhansanseong Wall, Seoul, Korea

Posted by Aidan Hammond (Seoul, South Korea) on 11 November 2006 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Nahansanseong is a walled fortress built along the ridge of a mountain range, southeast of Seoul. The wall runs the entire length of the ridge. It's size and length are impressive - very similar to the Great Wall of China. Hiking along this ridge, you realize just how hilly and mountainous Korea is. Most of the green spaces in Seoul are created around a mountain. There are very few wide open green spaces - they are all created around a mountain or hill.
