Maisan Temple, Korea

Posted by Aidan Hammond (Seoul, South Korea) on 28 December 2006 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

I just got back from a Christmas hike and trip. We went down to the southern part of the Korean peninsula. There will be further shots from this trip to come.
This temple is located in the valley between the two hills of Maisan. Maisan translates as horse-ear mountain.
The light was streaming through on of the open temple doors and landing on these statues.
One of the joys of hiking in Korea is that there are often temples and shrines along many of the trails which make for a refreshing break.
