This corner was on the same street as our hotel. We used to stop at the convenience store across from it to but our daily supply of milks and fruit drinks.
While waiting for the others I would stand outside and watch the action unfold. Coming from Canada, the street life here was quite different. I liked how so much 'life' happened on the street.

Yeah, different than here, too, I would imagine: here there is none. I guess a street life exists in some of our bigger cities like New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle --but here in Texas the cities empty when the people working at the big corporate offices head home for the evening. Any street life exists only in contained, isolated, and somewhat exclusive pockets, accessible for most only by car.
