Gambling: A bird's eye view; Beijing, China

Posted by Aidan Hammond (Seoul, South Korea) on 8 October 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

We were sitting on the second floor of an outdoor restaurant. The property next to the restaurant was vacant and under construction. While eating we heard a tremendous crash and looked over the wall to see that the corrugated wall separating the construction site from the street had collapsed - when someone had leaned their bike against the wall.
This crash interrupted this card game. The players got up and attempted to persuade the bicycle owner to raise the wall. The wall was raised and the card game resumed.
