Pine sentries

On the way down from our climb we took a cable car down. As we neared the bottom the landscape changed - much of the vegetation looked as if it had been cleared a few years ago. In its place were these pine trees planted on the slopes to help prevent erosion. Each tree had a small little stone wall built around its base to give it some support.
